White Night Melbourne unveils full 2017 program

Highlights of the all-night event include the monstrous fire-erupting Pyrophone Juggernaut at the Melbourne Museum Plaza.

The Juggernaut is a giant metal beast, arriving as the largest hand-operated, multi-octave, fire organ in the world and built entirely from reclaimed metal and industrial salvage.

Projections will return once more, covering Flinders Street buildings from The Forum to Chapter House courtesy of Fractured Fairytales, inspired by retro cartoons and fairytales.

The La Trobe Reading Room will be transformed into a 360-degree spectacular, morphing into Seadragon’s Lair – creating an immersive underwater world acting as a surreal marine metropolis in the heart of the city.

Elsewhere, the 12-hour dance marathon returns for those who want to get their boogie on, while Birrarung Marr will come to life with Spherophyte – boasting 48 moving arms breaking in an endless cycle, transmuting into shapes that intersect and dissolve.

Floating high above Hosier Lane, a majestic sky jellyfish will reign tall – illuminated with pulsating lights and graciously flowing tentacles.
