DJ and producer Young Franco headlines a free outdoor show at AO Hilltop on 18 January.
The first day of the Australian Open main draw is getting a proper soundtrack this year, with Young Franco headlining a free riverside gig at Birrarung Marr.
The Brisbane-born DJ and producer will take over the AO Hilltop stage on 18 January as part of a one-night-only launch party. Young Franco has built a reputation for blending electronic, disco, indie and hip-hop into crowd-pleasing sets, with tracks like Juice, Lose Control and Wake Up earning him fans across the country and beyond.
The evening kicks off with indie dance duo Nite Theory, followed by athlete-turned-DJ Alex Hayes warming things up before Young Franco closes out the night. Jake Webb also joins the lineup for an afternoon set.

The gig marks the opening night of the Canadian Club Racquet Club, which transforms the AO Hilltop precinct into a free zone for tennis fans throughout the tournament. No Australian Open ticket is required to get in, and the spot stays open daily from 12pm until the end of play, running from 18 January through 1 February.
Set against views of the Melbourne skyline and Yarra River, the outdoor venue offers shaded seating areas, big screen tennis coverage and DJs spinning throughout the fortnight. It’s essentially a free hangout for anyone wanting to soak up the Open atmosphere without a ground pass.
Tickets for the Young Franco launch party are limited, with the first release already sold out. A second round drops on 12 January at 4pm via Moshtix.
