Located on the 12th floor of Melbourne Place, this urban eatery is primed to be a new culinary gem.
Foodies, prepare yourselves. Melbourne Place, the much-anticipated independent luxury hotel set to open at 130 Russell St this October, has just gotten even more exciting with the announcement of an elegant rooftop dining experience.
Earlier this year, the hotel revealed its first culinary offering – Marmello, an Iberian-coast-inspired joint from the mind of triple-hatted Sydney hospitality duo Ross and Sunny Lusted. The venue will also host a quirky bar and supper club called Mr. Mills, with DJs, cocktails and late-night bites.

Now, it has been announced that there will be a second place to dine in the building. The appropriately named Mid-Air will be on the building’s 12th floor and will be led by chef Nick Deligiannis.
With experience in Michelin-starred kitchens and the prestigious title of Young Chef of the Year, Chef Deligiannis has crafted a menu dedicated to his Greek heritage. With signature dishes like marinated golden peppers with Kefalonian hot honey and feta and Southern Rock lobster doughnuts with taramasalata, the menu is expected to be equally decadent and inspired.
With panoramic city views, a summer-ready indoor-outdoor layout and vibrant decor, the venue design fits hand and hand with the menu, designed to bring the relaxed atmosphere and sun-ripened flavours of Greece, Turkey, Spain, Italy and France to the heart of Melbourne.
Chef Deligiannis, a strong believer in the importance of constantly learning and adapting, is sure to put an interesting and delicious spin on beloved classics.
Mid-Air will be open throughout the day, serving up decadent breakfast, brunch, aperitivo and dinner menus. It’s set to open alongside the rest of the Melbourne Place hotel sometime in mid-October 2024.
