All true metal fans have sat through the musical (and visual) catastrophe that was ‘Stonehenge’ and felt the 60’s Beatle-esque nostalgia of ‘Listen to the Flower People’ and ‘Gimme Some Money’ – sort of. The extremity of the shift from the bands’ carefree 60’s look to their vulgar 80’s hair metal style really brought out the best (or worst depending on your opinion) of the decades with the band channelling the best of Poison, Motley Crue and no-facepaint Kiss to showcase the most cringe-worthy aspects of rock n roll’s history and no one can deny the timeless comedic gold that the band has brought metal.
When Dokken’s George Lynch saw the movie he is said to have exclaimed, “That’s us! How’d they make a movie about us?”
You Am I reckon “one out of every four and a half interviews has included the question ‘Have you ever had a Spinal Tap moment?’” and this band has had countless.
You Am I are ready to tackle the iconic songs and looks of the band and unleash the ‘Majesty of Rock’ onto Australia.
