Yippee ki-yay! The Yarra Valley Rodeo is rolling into town

A rootin' tootin' time.

Hop in the saddle and embrace your inner cow-person at the annual Yarra Valley Rodeo. On January 20, folks from far and wide will gather at the Yarra Glen Racecourse to see some of the state’s strongest bulls and broncos go absolutely wild in the dirt.

Held just an hour’s drive from the CBD, the rodeo gives visitors a chance to get the whole family around, hang out in the picturesque countryside and sink some beers in the sun. If that’s not the ultimate Saturday activity, we don’t know what is.

While the event will feature food trucks, carnival games, rides and a market stall area, the main show will be going down in the stadium. Watch daring young gents tango with beasts in breakaway roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing, bronc and bull riding, team roping and so much more.

Grab a Grandstand, Ringside or VIP Marquee ticket for the best view of the action, or pull up a lawn chair in the grass. The rodeo has a 5000 capacity and last year’s event sold out quickly, so make sure you get there when gates open at 3pm if you haven’t secured your ticket beforehand.

After all the wrangling has wrapped up, the rockin’ Ian Iain Archibald Band will be providing the entertainment for the evening, leading the crowd in a good old fashioned hoedown like no other.
