Yasmin de Laine

Gothic folk newcomer Yasmin de Laine is pleased to present the launch of her single ‘Laura Elsa’, out 14 March 2023. The song is the first single from her debut EP, ‘Each Heart Devours The Other’, due for release in May this year.

Rounding out this evening of emotive folk tunes will be alt-country songstress Teresa Duffy-Richards and acoustic duo Citronella Candles.

Born and raised in South Australia, Yasmin de Laine is known for her eerie mix of swamp blues and gothic alt-rock. With its evocative lyrics and haunting melodies, ‘Laura Elsa’ invites listeners to explore the darker corners of the human experience, where anger, grief, and a thirst for justice collide. Drawing on the tradition of old-time murder ballads, the song also explores themes of female rage and retribution, as well as the enduring power of smalltown whispers and stories that have been forgotten by time.

Teresa Duffy-Richards is a seasoned songwriter. A two time finalist of the Darebin songwriting competition and seasoned back up vocalist/musician, Teresa released her debut album in 2019 and has been steadily building her skills in the time since.
