Xavier Rudd announces St Kilda, Frankston shows

XAVIER RUDD

Xavier Rudd announces his 2022 Australian tour, in celebration of the release of his forthcoming 10th studio album ‘Jan Juc Moon’, out 25th March.

National treasure Xavier Rudd is returning home to Victoria this year as part of his 2022 ‘Jan Juc Moon’ Australian tour.

Kicking off in Toowoomba in May, the massive 33-date national tour will stop in all states, territories and major regions around the country before finishing up in Karratha in WA on July 27. Along the way, Rudd will perform six Victorian concerts in Warragul, St Kilda, Wangaratta, Frankston, Geelong and Bendigo.

Since the very beginning, Xavier Rudd’s ability to connect with people has been his most powerful gift. The more he has toured the world, the more hearts he has touched and the more of the world he has put back into his music. This year the Australian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist will release his tenth studio album Jan Juc Moon, out 25th March, the follow up to Storm Boy in 2019.

Late last month Rudd dropped his third single from the new album, ‘Ball and Chain’, a collaboration with Indigenous rapper J-MILLA. Addressing Australia’s own history with Aboriginal peoples and culture, the song has been hailed as “… the protest song we need right now, and a solid reminder of what great music is all about – challenging the status quo,” by Double J on its Best New Music.

Previous ‘Jan Juc Moon’ singles ‘Stoney Creek’ and ‘We Deserve To Dream’ have already accrued 12 million streams globally, while Rudd’s forthcoming international tour has already seen shows in Amsterdam, Antwerp and Brussels sell out.

Nothing compares to experiencing Xavier Rudd in concert who is truly at his best on stage in the company of his fans. Acoustic guitar in hand, engulfed by an ever more complex scaffold of didgeridoos, percussion and various eclectic instruments, Rudd cuts an utterly unique and compelling figure.

One of Australia’s most successful international artists Xavier Rudd has amassed huge followings in Australia, North America and Europe – he chooses idyllic destinations such as Spain, Portugal and Croatia and of course his home country Australia where his music, his message, and the environment around him all meet in stunning synchronicity.
