Produced by the team behind the award-winning Riverboats Music Festival in Echuca-Moama, Winter Sounds focuses on bringing people together through shared musical experiences. The festival emphasises the unique atmosphere created by combining Australia’s finest artists with the distinctive character of regional Victoria during winter months.

The festival experience extends beyond the performances themselves, with organisers highlighting the sensory elements that make Winter Sounds distinctive. The combination of woodsmoke in the air, cosy venues and warm hospitality creates an atmosphere that sets the festival apart from traditional music events. The regional Victorian setting provides a backdrop that enhances the winter theme, with venues ranging from goldrush-era churches to historic schoolhouses.

Winter Sounds represents a growing trend towards boutique music festivals that prioritise intimate experiences over large-scale productions. The festival’s commitment to unusual and atmospheric spaces reflects a desire to create memorable connections between artists, audiences and the unique character of regional Victorian venues.

The festival operates with support from Visit Victoria’s Regional Events Fund, demonstrating institutional recognition of the event’s contribution to regional tourism and cultural life. This backing enables Winter Sounds to continue developing its distinctive approach to festival programming and venue selection.

Individual tickets for Winter Sounds performances are available through the festival’s official website, allowing music lovers to select specific shows or plan comprehensive festival experiences across the four-day program.
