Winner Revealed for AMIN’s ‘I Love Live Music’ Competition

Taking out the top prize comes Sari Braithwaite’s Live from Kingsbury Bowls – a film about live music’s ability to bring people, young and old, together and engaging them through the universal language that is music. Featuring a performance by Liz Stringer in a community bowls club, the film is centred around the sense of community that local live music creates.

Coming in close as this year’s runner up is Cesar Salmeron and Aaron Cuthbert’s Encore. The film aims to visually explore what it might feel like to remove live music from the halls that created it. Showing nothing but empty spaces, yet hearing the sounds of an audience, the film dissects the marriage between society, space and the magic of shared moments.

Finalists – seven from Victoria, one from South Australia, one from Tasmania and one from New South Wales – ranged from professional filmmakers to independent producers and shared in a prize pool of over $12,000. Check out some of their brilliant work below.
