One of the most acclaimed suspenseful thrillers of all time - a play that introduced the world to toxic masculinity and the term gaslighting - has been reinvigorated in a blockbuster play at Comedy Theatre throughout March.

Set in 1901 London, Gaslight is the modern adaptation of the 1940s suspenseful thriller by Patrick Hamilton, starring Geraldine Hakewill and Toby Schmitz, and is playing in Melbourne on a limited three week run from March 6 – 24, so if you want tickets, you’ll have to get in quick.
“I was interested in tackling a play that’s stood the test of time; intrigued millions both on stage and on film, and giving it a modern, 2024 twist. Could we explore a more relevant message and yet retain the thrills and suspense of the original?” said producer Rodney Rigby (Come From Away, Jersey Boys, Good Night).
“This is one of those rare, exciting refreshments of a classic thriller, with an added twist that means new suspense and new satisfaction,” added co-creator Johnna Wright.
