Peter and the Starcatcher, the Tony Award-winning Broadway hit, has just made its Melbourne debut to high acclaim. Directed by David Morton, known for his work with Dead Puppet Society, this visually stunning production reimagines the beloved origin story of Peter Pan, blending whimsical puppetry, live music, and theatrical innovation.
The play, written by Rick Elice with music by Wayne Barker, explores the untold adventures before Peter became the boy who never grew up. It introduces a world of pirates, orphans, and magical Starstuff, following the journey of Peter, Wendy’s mother Molly, and the mysterious characters who shape Neverland’s future.
Dead Puppet Society, renowned for their cutting-edge stagecraft and immersive storytelling, has been granted a special license by Disney Theatrical Group to bring this fresh version to life. The production promises to captivate audiences of all ages, blurring the lines between reality and fantasy.
