What’s on in Melbourne tonight? We’ve got heaps of live music happening on Friday December 10, from rockers Hobsons Bay Coast Guard at the Northcote Social Club, to Aussie music royalty Kate Ceberano kicking off Christmas celebrations at Memo Music Hall.

Hobsons Bay Coast Guard

Hobsons Bay Coast Guard are quickly becoming one of Melbourne’s most prolific live performers and rockers.

Their latest release Tubular Swells dropped December 2, and has been lauded for its unique blend of rock and old school vibes. You can grab it over on their Bandcamp page here.  

The show is happening at the Northcote social club, and they’ll be supported by the amazing up and comers ControlplusMe and Winter Mcquinn.

Melbourne Music Week Club: Crown Ruler Showcase

The amazing Melbourne Music Week is slowly wrapping up, but not before a few more killer shows.

Agency Crown Ruler are putting on a massive show, with some of their biggest artists like Ruby Savage, one of the UK’s biggest acts. The show will also feature Chicago born, Melbourne based mammoth performers Mothafunk, and many more that you can check out here.

They cover a slew of genres, you’ll get to hear Disco, Electronica, Soul and House, so there’s truly something for everyone. As has been the case for all of the shows in the Melbourne Music Week Club, this’ll go down at Max Watts, one of Melbourne’s premier venues. It’s only $20, too!

Kate Ceberano

She’s Aussie music royalty, and you can catch her in concert tonight at the Memo Music Hall.

Kate Ceberano has released a whopping 28 albums across her illustrious 35 year career, full of ARIAs, multiple gold and platinum releases, TV appearances, and much more, she’s so you know there’s no doubt you’ll be in for a great show.

Comedy at the Coopers Inn

If you want a break from the crazy news out in the world at the moment, head to the comedy at the coopers tonight for some A list hilarity.

You never know who you’ll catch either, in previous incarnations of the regular show, it’s showcased such massive acts as Dilruk Jayasinha, Dave Thornton, and Celia Pacquola to name a few.

It’s happening at the Coopers Inn pub, so you can enjoy a high quality pint or two over many laughs.

Trash Springfield, Louis, Blood Blossoms

Blood Blossoms will be the first group you catch, and they’ve been classified as an awesome amalgamation of folk, rock, and pop. Louis is a young singer / songwriter and you can catch his upcoming debut EP release in 2022, called Pretty Normal.

Headlining the night is the phenomenal Trash Springfield, a band you’ll definitely want to keep checking out after you head to this show. They’re a three-piece focused on giving fans a raw, honest, lyrical experience.

Loretta & Her Boyfriends

The Melbourne Women’s International Jazz festival is currently taking place across the state, bringing some of the most talented jazz and jazz adjacent performers into the ears of listeners.

The festival wraps up in the coming days, but there’s still a few awesome show taking place. One of which is happening tonight, featuring talented group Loretta & Her Boyfriends.

Loretta & Her Boyfriends bring an interesting vibe to blues music, vocalist Loretta Miller bringing her rock-oriented vocals to classics from acts like Dinah Washington and Patsy Cline. This show is taking place at the Jazzlab, a staple of many shows throughout this MWIJF.
