This rotating exhibition of new and recent works by gallery artists is on now at Flinders Lane Gallery.
Wet Paint is the name of the current exhibition at Flinders Lane Gallery, a rotating collection of new and recent works by gallery artists, fresh from their studios.
The featured artworks include pieces by Marise Maas, Simeon Walker, Christophe Stibio, Juli Haas, William Breen, Helen McCarthy, Terri Brooks, Lizzie Buckmaster Dove, George Ward Tjungurrayi, Yinarupa Nangala, Mami Yamanaka, Dorothy Napangardi and more.
William Breen’s works take us on a languid road trip through the rolling landscapes of the Yarra Valley, continuing across Victoria to present us with dramatic vistas of the Grampians.
Terri Brooks continues her formal investigation into natural mark making, utilising her materials to produce rich and complex works that speak of creating art out of something humble and ordinary.
Japanese-born Mami Yamanaka draws in circular motions and incorporates forms that symbolise her experience of migration, creating delicate patterns that reflect the fragility of nature and the abundance of inner experience.
These artists are among many others who have work as part of the Wet Paint exhibition, which is now open and running from January 4 until February 22 2011.
Gallery hours are 12-6pm Tuesday-Friday and by appointment throughout January.
