Voice For Change: How B Wise sees music as a path for positivity

Why do you think a program such as Voice for Change that aims to inspire youth and create positivity is important?

It’s programs, like this that add to the effort of changing perceptions and giving insight. The images and stories Voice For Change provide show the broader public what creative and talented youth from other backgrounds have to offer here in Australia.

Are there particular aspects of Voice for Change that resonate with you and the ability to tell your story alongside other influential and diverse talent?

I’m just happy to even be considered. I’ve been through a lot in my short life but it makes me feel good to know I can share these events and experience’s and see other youth find familiarity there.

How has music shaped who you are – not just as a performer – but as a person?

Music to me is life. I couldn’t imagine my existence without it. Everything I do from washing dishes to riding public transport, I’ve gotta have some music on hand. It was no surprise to most in my family that I took up a career in music.

How did you have the confidence to follow your creative pursuits and make a career from them?

There’s good advice everywhere. One common advice I received was, “chase your dream and live with no regrets. If you try and you fail, get back up and try again.  And if it just doesn’t work out at least you know you had a go – then try something else” So I did that, made a plan listened to my gut and went for it. The rest is history.

What advice would you give the next generation who want to follow their passions in creative fields?

Same as above. Have a plan, set goals and targets. Invest in yourself and your dream then go for it.
