UK pop icons Sugababes are set to bring their chart-topping hits to Australia this January, with three headline shows following their highly anticipated performance at this year’s Beyond The Valley festival.
Formed in 1998, Sugababes have crafted a legacy as one of the UK’s most successful girl groups of the 21st century.
They burst onto the scene with their debut single Overload and continued to dominate the charts with iconic tracks like Push The Button, Round Round, About You Now, and Too Lost In You. Fast forward to 2023, and the original lineup—Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan, and Siobhan Donaghy—are back and stronger than ever.

This year has been a monumental one for Sugababes, who performed at East London’s Colour Factory for a Boiler Room set that made history, amassing over a million views on YouTube. They’ve also collaborated with DJ duo DJ Heartstring and received a tribute from UK producers Two Shell, who reworked their classic Round Round. Their headline Glastonbury set earlier this year attracted overwhelming fan demand, a testament to their enduring impact.
What sets the Sugababes apart is their ability to evolve with changing pop trends while maintaining a core identity of strong vocal harmonies and emotional depth. Despite several changes in lineup—Siobhán Donaghy was replaced by Heidi Range in 2001, followed by a series of other switches—the group consistently delivered chart-topping hits such as Freak Like Me, Round Round, and Push the Button. Their sound evolved from R&B-infused pop to more electronic and dance-oriented tracks, allowing them to stay relevant in the ever-shifting music landscape.
In recent years, the original lineup—known as the “MKS” (Mutya, Keisha, Siobhán)—reunited, much to the delight of long-time fans.
The group’s influence on British pop cannot be overstated. They broke the mold of traditional girl groups, eschewing bubblegum pop for a more mature, experimental sound that appealed to a wider audience. Despite internal conflicts leading to several lineup changes, the Sugababes maintained commercial success, earning multiple Brit Award nominations and amassing six UK number-one singles.
