Two of Melbourne’s hottest QTBIPOC party crews are teaming up for NYD

Words by staff writer

Your hangover from NYE won't even be done processing and you'll already be back on the dancefloor.

Final Girl and CLUBHAUS are joining forces for a full venue takeover at New Guernica on 1 January 2026, promising nine hours of cross-genre selections, international headliners and the kind of sticky, sweaty chaos that only a New Year’s Day party can deliver.

Both crews have carved out serious reputations in Melbourne’s underground scene, with Final Girl attracting the city’s 20-something crowd and CLUBHAUS championing East and Southeast Asian club sounds as one of Naarm’s leading QTBIPOC-led parties.

Final Girl x CLUBHAUS: NYD 2026

  • New Guernica, 64 Smith Street, Collingwood
  • 1 January 2026
  • 7pm–4am
  • Tickets $29–69

The lineup brings together selectors from across the globe. Danish-Uruguayan dj g2g headlines fresh off sets at Berghain and a string of appearances with queer party collective NYMPHO. Perth’s Yikes, a Wongi man known for his deep, percussive sounds on RTRFM’s Full Frequency, joins Filipino selector Baby Oliv at the top of the bill.

Local heavyweights round out the bill with Cristal No. 5, Nay Nay and Sydney’s Brina all confirmed. Two back-to-back sets will keep multiple rooms humid all night: Haus of Ralph teams up with Mon Franco while House Mum links with Jex Wang. New Guernica’s heritage-listed Smith Street venue offers the kind of multi-room sprawl that makes these whole-venue takeovers work, from its seven-metre ceilings in the main room to the raw concrete basement below.

Both Final Girl and CLUBHAUS have become fixtures in Melbourne’s queer club landscape. CLUBHAUS has been spotlighting underground sounds from across Asia while building a reputation for parties where the music comes first.

Final Girl has drawn a devoted following of ravers who show up for fluid techno sets filled with booty bouncing and Budots. This NYD collab puts both crews on the same bill for what’s shaping up to be one of the first big parties of 2026.
