TWICE announces first-ever Australian tour dates

TWICE
words by Kaya Martin

See the K-Pop girl group TWICE live this May when they play down under on their Ready To Be world tour.

Here’s something that’ll help you cheer up: the K-Pop supergroup TWICE are heading to Melbourne in only a few short months. They have just unveiled the dates for their Ready To Be World Tour, which will start out in their native Seoul before jetting off to Australia, Japan, the United States, Canada and beyond – more destinations are expected to be announced soon.

Known for their uplifting electro-pop bops, razor sharp dance choreography and energetic live performances, the nine-piece group is sure to dazzle fans at the upcoming shows in May. This will be the fifth world tour for TWICE, who have never played in Australia before (although they did spend a sun-filled vacation in Sydney a few years back).

TWICE was born from a competition reality show, Sixteen, which selected Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, and Chaeyoung as the core members. Later, the final members Tzuyu and Momo were added to the lineup.

They sprung onto the scene in 2016 with the release of their debut EP, Twicecoaster: Lane 1, which became the best-selling album by a Korean girl group that year. They are best known for their viral singles TT, The Feels, Fancy and Cry For Me.

By performing in English, Korean and Japanese, TWICE has built a cult following of supporters who are sure to snap up tickets as soon as they are released – if you’re thinking of going, we suggest you keep your eyes out on social media so you don’t miss out.

TWICE will be playing at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on May 4. To join the waitlist to buy tickets, head here
