Tunes & ‘Tails #3 Moonshine Fizz and Hachiku

Tune: Moonface by Hachiku

Cocktail:
Moonshine Fizz

Like an old fashioned on Southern Steroids, packed with citrus flavours and a cheeky bit of ginger to keep you guessing, Moonshine Fizz is the surprise package that will add a little bit of garden party elegance to even the most casual of occasions. Chuck in an umbrella, sip away, and pretend you are somewhere a whole lot sunnier than Melbourne right now.

22-year-old Anika Ostendorf AKA Hachiku, is one of the dreamiest artists going around, and her track Moonface – with its glittering folk melodies and dreamy pop sound – make it the perfect accompaniment to this fizzing cup o’ fun.  Born in Detroit, raised in Germany, relocated to London, and now based in Melbourne, Hachiku is the definition of a global artist – but we think she is out of this world.

Ingredients

  • 50ml Melbourne Moonshine
  • 10ml Lemon juice
  • 10ml Lime juice
  • 20ml Sugar syrup
  • 7.5ml Ginger juice
  • Dash (4-6 drops) Orange bitters
  • 15ml Egg white
  • Dash of soda water

Now get shakin’

  1. Add all ingredients (minus soda) to a cocktail shaker
  2. Shake first without ice to bind the egg white with the other ingredients.
  3. Shake with ice.
  4. Fine strain into a pre chilled highball glass (without ice).
  5. Top with soda, and garnish with grated nutmeg on top.

Enjoy responsibly.
