Heaps Gay teams up with YUMMY for a party of epic proportions in the State Library. The Gene Tree Project: The Sound of Art and Science @ LAB-14 Gallery
The Gene Tree Project is a dynamic music performance arising out of Elissa Goodrich’s artistic residency with dramaturge Nadja Kostich and evolutionary biologist Dr Anna Syme, drawing upon DNA modelling by exploring climate and science through a musical lens. The live trio will move through classical, jazz and improvised music – drawing parallels between biology and music scoring in the process.

Triple R’s Josh Earl will be broadcasting live from the MMW Hub, featuring tunes from Dan Kelly as well as The Dusty Millers. Former co-host of legendary 3RRR comedy program The Cheese Shop, Janet McLeod will also pop by, as well as King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard to chat about Gizzfest.
Get down to MPavilion as the sun sets for a special work from Melbourne composers Geoff Nees and J David Franzke in unison with a light show from Bluebottle. The musical duo has been working with sound’s shape and form across screens and built-forms for decades, with their MMW sensory experience ready to propel you into a perfect night.
