The concept behind This Never Happened, created by renowned DJ and producer Daniel Goldstein, known professionally as Lane 8, focuses on removing the common distractions of phones and cameras, encouraging attendees to “experience the moment, don’t record it.” Since its inception in 2016, this philosophy has resonated with audiences globally, creating a unique live music environment that promotes total engagement with the music. The series debuted in Australia in 2023 to a sold-out crowd, and now returns with two shows in Melbourne and Sydney.
French melodic house DJ and producer Massane will take the stage as the headliner. Known for his deep emotional soundscapes, Massane has garnered acclaim since his debut EP Visage 1 (No Return) on Lane 8’s label, and his recent release Visage EP 7 (Spin My Head) in 2024 has only further solidified his place in the melodic house scene. His memorable live set for Dawn on the French Riviera has attracted over 1.5 million views, capturing audiences with his guitar-driven tracks and atmospheric visuals.
Joining Massane is Dublin-based DJ, producer, and singer-songwriter EMBRZ (Jack Casey), known for his chill house sound that combines serene melodies with heartfelt lyrics. With popular tracks like Where You Are and his 2023 album In Our Own Way, EMBRZ has captivated listeners worldwide, amassing over 200 million streams and performing sold-out shows in cities such as New York and Toronto.
These exclusive events are supported by Untitled Group, Australia’s largest independently owned music and events company, which also oversees major festivals like Beyond The Valley, Pitch Music & Arts, and Ability Fest.
