Melbourne's getting a massive dose of Formula 1 fever with a free five-day festival running alongside the Australian Grand Prix this March.

The Australian Grand Prix Corporation today announced the F1 Melbourne Fan Festival 2025, transforming Melbourne Park Oval into a high-octane hub of motorsport culture. The festival arrives just in time for fans who missed out on tickets to the sold-out weekend races at Albert Park.

Festival-goers can dive into a range of F1 experiences including Virtual Driver Selfies, F1 Blast Lane, and up-close encounters with an iconic show car.

The festival promises live crosses from Albert Park, broadcasting every heart-pumping moment from the Formula 1, Formula 2, Formula 3 and Supercars sessions. Between races, punters can catch their favourite drivers in live interviews and Q&As, alongside appearances from sports and entertainment personalities.

Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events Steve Dimopoulos emphasised the festival’s accessibility: “We know families are feeling the pinch, so we’re inviting Victorians to come and be part of this iconic, globally-loved event at the free family festival.”

He added: “No other city in the world has an international Grand Slam, a Formula One Grand Prix, and soon regular season NFL games – Melbourne is the undeniable major events capital of Australia, which creates thousands of jobs for Victorians.”

Australian Grand Prix Corporation CEO Travis Auld shared his enthusiasm for the expanded program: “I am thrilled to share that this year we are expanding the Grand Prix experience and taking over Melbourne, with the announcement of the free F1 Melbourne Fan Festival 2025 at Melbourne Park Oval.”

“Race week is such an exciting time in the city, and this festival will be an extension of the incredible offerings already available within the Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit.”

Food and beverage options will keep fans fuelled throughout the festivities, with multiple superscreens ensuring no one misses a moment of the action.
