Luna Dark 2026: Melbourne's biggest Halloween party is back to haunt Luna Park
Grab your fake blood and your comfiest costume, because Luna Park Melbourne’s Halloween party Luna Dark is clawing its way back for 2026.
Halloween doesn’t do things by halves at Luna Park, and this year the St Kilda amusement park is going bigger, darker and considerably more unhinged, with six nights of horror-themed chaos planned across October and into November.
Built for thrill-seekers and horror fans, Luna Dark 2026 has expanded its line-up significantly, packing in more immersive horror, live entertainment and after-dark experiences across the entire park, alongside its usual family-friendly daytime offering for those who’d rather skip the nightmares.

Carnival of Screams
Leading the charge for 2026 is Carnival of Screams, a brand-new haunted house and this year’s headline maze.
The premise: an abandoned carnival has come horrifyingly back to life.
Expect twisted clowns, escaped creatures and a magician’s final trick gone very, very wrong, all built specifically to headline Luna Dark’s biggest year yet.
Extreme Phobia
For those who like their fear a little more personal, Extreme Phobia is designed around some of the most primal fears people carry.
It’s less about jump-scares and more about that slow, creeping dread, making it one of the more intense mazes in this year’s line-up.
Harvest of Horrors
Rounding out the trio is Harvest of Horrors, an immersive experience with live performers where whatever’s lurking amongst the crops is anything but friendly.

The horror doesn’t stop once you’re out of the mazes, either.
The whole of Luna Park transforms into a high-energy Halloween playground, with scare zones and themed walk-throughs scattered across the grounds, roaming performers, DJs and live entertainment, plus a neon zone built for photo moments.
There’s also the Haunted Spirits Bar for the grown-ups, costume competitions for anyone who’s brought their A-game, and the Wizz Fizz Pumpkin Patch activation, all running alongside Luna Park’s iconic rides after dark.
The fine print for night owls
Luna Dark’s night sessions come with a heads-up: expect horror themes, live scares, darkness, loud noises, theatrical smoke and fog, flashing and strobe lighting and simulated blood and gore.
It’s an event built primarily with a young-adult audience in mind, and recommended for ages 14+.
Halloween by day
Not quite ready for that level of intensity? Luna Park has that covered too.
Four daytime sessions across the final two weekends of October offer a gentler, family-friendly take on proceedings.
Families are encouraged to dress up and enjoy Halloween theming, characters and photo opportunities, alongside Harvest of Horrors, a Best Costume Competition, Wizz Fizz Pumpkin Patch trick-or-treating, face painting and unlimited Luna Park rides.
Chasing a full-blown scare or a costume-and-candy kind of day, Luna Dark 2026 gives Melbourne two very different ways to mark Halloween under the same iconic Luna Park sign.
