There’s a brand new electronic camping festival happening next month

Sonder festival
Words by Staff Writer

Welcome to Victoria's new electronic camping festival - Sonder!

Sonder, for those of you wondering, is a term that refers to the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own.

Sonder Festival, meanwhile, is an independent three-day electronic music and arts festival over the Easter weekend in 2024. Featuring left-field dance, electronic, and percussive musicians and DJs from both around the world and locally.

It’s being organised by 188naarm, who regularly throw parties at The Third Day and put on that superb rave at the Greenwood Hotel with Marlon Hoffstadt and co back in November.

Sonder Festival

Sonder is a 1.25 hour drive from Melbourne CBD, at the same place that used to hold Boogie Festival. Music begins – 3:00 PM on Friday 29th March and finishes – 1:00 AM Monday 1st April.

“‘Sonder’ is the realisation that each passerby is living a life as complex as your own. It can be an isolating realisation, but it can also be liberating, calming, and comforting. And it is often felt at small festivals like this one,” the festival organisers say, “we think it’s going to be really fun. You should come.”
