San Diego soul trio Thee Sacred Souls are returning to Australia for one night only at Hamer Hall in 2026.
Thee Sacred Souls have been quietly winning over the world one tender, heartfelt song at a time, and Melbourne gets another crack at seeing them live this May.
The modern soul trio — singer Joshua Lane, bassist Sal Samano and drummer Alex Garcia — formed in 2019 and almost immediately landed a deal with iconic independent label Daptone Records after their earliest club gigs caught the right ears. From there, it’s been a steady, well-deserved ascent.

Their music sits deep in the warmth of 60s and 70s R&B, but Thee Sacred Souls aren’t a nostalgia act. There’s something genuinely alive in their sound: lush instrumentation, honest vocals and a production style that feels both timeless and immediate.
Their self-titled debut and 2024 follow-up Got A Story To Tell both landed to serious acclaim and racked up millions of streams globally. Early single Can I Call You Rose?, cut during their very first recording session, found a whole new audience through TikTok and hasn’t really slowed down since.
They’ve since taken that sound to Coachella, Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza, NPR’s Tiny Desk, and TV slots on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Later with Jools Holland. Their fanbase now includes the likes of Beyoncé, SZA, Alicia Keys and Leon Bridges, which tells you plenty about the kind of music Thee Sacred Souls make and the company they keep.
After Melbourne, the band heads to Sydney for a show at the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall on 2 June as part of Vivid LIVE.
