Festival Hall does things a little differently to other Melbourne venues.
It’s not a stadium, even though it often hosts stadium-quality acts. It’s also not a theatre – you won’t be seeing any velvet curtains here.
Located in a semi-industrial area in West Melbourne (yet still only a short walk from Southern Cross Station), Festival Hall feels like an underground warehouse, yet with the charm and history of a heritage-listed building.
It’s a big, booming space equipped for a ton of fans, and it’s standing room only, making it perfect for big mosh pits and dancefloors.
Plus, so many legends have left their mark on the space, including The Beatles, Johnny Cash and Frank Sinatra, as well as more recently Justin Timberlake, Lorde and Rage Against The Machine.
Coming up, the venue welcomes a new generation of hit makers. From indie rock legends to experimental rappers (and everything in between), here’s what’s in the chamber at Festival Hall.
