The newly-renamed outfit have just dropped their debut single.

Have you ever felt invisible at a social gathering? You walk through friendship circles with a drink in hand but no one flinches or turns to say hi. This is the feeling that The Wattles’ debut single, ‘Bits & Pieces’, seeks to explore.

The track has the same energy as a rising Florence & The Machine number that begins at a steady pace before reaching a crescendo. As the drums to-and-fro between ominous toms and snares, vocalist Lucy Murray becomes more and more disconcerted.

I drink a few to let the hours go/Can’t check my phone/They’ll see and know,” Murray sings as she navigates her mental battles. The accompanying video, shot by Lorena Rabbani, follows Murray as she negotiates a party that hasn’t been so welcoming to her.

It’s the single that everyone can relate to and is certainly something we’re all ears for as we come to terms with this crazy world.
