Acclaimed indie rockers announce Melbourne and Sydney shows supporting seventh album Asphodels.
The Veils have announced Australian tour dates for November celebrating their latest album Asphodels.
Fresh off sold-out shows across Europe, North America and Australasia, The Veils are bringing their electrifying live performance back to Australian stages. The tour marks a triumphant celebration of their acclaimed seventh studio album Asphodels, which showcases 20 years of musical evolution since their debut The Runaway Found.
Recorded live to tape over five intense days at Roundhead Studios in Aotearoa New Zealand, Asphodels captures the raw immediacy that has defined The Veils throughout their career. The nine-track album takes its name from the Ancient Greek flower of the Underworld, drawing lyrical inspiration from poets including Lorca, Ted Hughes and Louis MacNeice.

Frontman Finn Andrews has described the record as a culmination of what he calls a disconcertingly long career in music. Central to Asphodels’ striking sound is Andrews’ ongoing collaboration with string arranger Victoria Kelly, whose orchestrations function like another band member, shaping the album’s emotional core.
The Veils have built a formidable reputation as one of the world’s greatest live bands throughout their 20-year history. Their cinematic sound has attracted attention from acclaimed filmmakers Paolo Sorrentino, Tim Burton and David Lynch, all featuring the band’s music in their soundtracks.
Australian audiences can expect career-spanning setlists delivered with the fierce, captivating stagecraft that has made The Veils an unmissable live act. These intimate venue shows promise to showcase Asphodels in all its sweeping, cinematic glory while celebrating two decades of boundary-pushing indie rock.
The November dates offer a rare opportunity to witness The Veils’ evolution from promising newcomers to seasoned masters of atmospheric songcraft, delivering both new material and beloved catalogue cuts with equal intensity.
