“About five years.”

What’s been your favourite gig you’ve played to date?

“It’s a toss up between The Forum with Eagle And The Worm and our sold-out album launch party at Rice Queen.”

Which band would you most like to have a battle/showdown with?

“Peter, Paul and Mary.”

What inspires or has influenced your music the most?

“Op shops.”

What do you think a band has to do these days to succeed?

“I have no idea, obviously.”

“Our debut, self titled album is available from our bandcamp: theukeladies.bandcamp.com/album/the-ukeladies plus Basement Discs, Title, and the front bar of The Marquis Of Lorne Hotel Fitzroy.”

Why should everyone come and see your band?

“We have an eight-piece, nearly-all-star cocktail ensemble and two different dance troupes.”

“In-store at Basement Discs, Block Arcade (off Collins St, City) this Friday July 8, The Ukeladies featuring Dan Luscombe (The Drones), Phil Kakulas (The Black Eyed Susans) and Miles Brown (The Night Terrors). 12.45pm, free… and… Sunday July 10, The Toff In Town, The Ukeladies with full band, featuring Clare Moore (Dave Graney & The Lurid Yellow Mist), Dan Luscombe (The Drones), Phil Kakulas (The Black Eyed Susans), Jen Sholakis (Laura Jean Band) and Miles Brown (The Night Terrors) plus All-Star Hula Troupe and The Body Electric Dance, supported by BJ Morriszonkle and Saxaphone Quartet, 8pm, $12.”
