After the huge success of Green Music Australia’s 2017 Plastic Free July, the initiative has returned for another eco-conscious month of awareness. Last year saw 40 artists, including Midnight Oil, Killing Heidi, Ecca Vandal, Montaigne and Bernard Fanning, all taking a stand against single-use plastics and this year is already backed by a bigger push from Aussie artists.
This year, GMA’s first international ambassador Jack Johnson is sacking plastic bottles, alongside the 2018 Plastic Free July leaders The Teskey Brothers, Liz Stringer and Brad Butcher who will spearhead the 47 artist strong initiative.

GMA’s mission is to get people on board with ditching plastic bottles by bringing your own reusable bottle when you’re out and about. This year’s Plastic Free July comes with a double whammy of supermarkets ditching their single-use plastic bags in store, so what better time to get on board and stock up on your BYO bottles, bags, coffee cups and containers.
