The Rubens are putting on a festival in celebration of a decade playing together

Ten years on from the release of their debut EP, the Camden locals are celebrating by hosting a festival in their hometown.

Taking place on September 10, it features a killer line-up that includes Middle Kids, Skeggs, Spiderbait, Slowly Slowly as well as the hometown heroes themselves. Additionally – The Rubens and Mountain distilling have come together to create a gin, featuring familiar botanicals from their Camden home. With their iconic album artwork on the bottle, it’s an exclusive drop.

  • They’re also hosting their own festival, Valleyways, which will happen on September 10
  • The band is also teaming up with Mountain Distilling to create a limited edition gin

They’ve just announced a limited edition vinyl re-press of their self-titled EP in celebration of its release ten years ago. “As excited as we are for the future and the new music we are currently working on, we are bloody proud of where it all started and hope our awesome fans are pumped to get their hands on the reissue of our debut.”

The vinyl release of The Rubens comes off the back of the band touring virtually non-stop amidst the challenges of a pandemic and selling over 23,000 tickets, in celebration of their fourth album 0202.

The Rubens burst onto the scene when they uploaded their first song, ‘Lay It Down’ to triple j unearthed. Unbeknownst to them at the time, this would signal the start of an incredible career, including their first album The Rubens debuting at #3 on the ARIA chart and reaching platinum sales. Since then, their following three albums have landed in the top 3, with their single ‘Hoops’ winning the triple j’s Hottest 100.
