The Folkie, now featuring a whopping 48 musical acts, will take place in Port Fairy from March 10 to 13.

The Port Fairy Folk Festival has announced another round of performers for the upcoming event, which will be returning to the beachside town for its 46th year. Running from March 10 to 13 2023, the charming four-day festival is gearing up for one of its strongest iterations yet, adding a host of local and international acts to the already stacked lineup.

Australian favourites including the Andrew Gurruwiwi Band, Blues Roulette, Bud Rokesky, Folk Bitch Trio, Gallie, Georgia Mooney, Georgia State Line, Minor Gold, Nick Charles, Sally Seltmann, Skyscraper Stan, Sweet Talk, The Southern Ocean Sea Band, and William Crighton have joined the bill.

They will take to the stage alongside overseas acts including Early James, Eilen Jewell, Jon Boden, Scott Cook, Startijenn, and Vieux Faraka Touré. 

The newest wave of artists will join a colossal, 48-act lineup, with the likes of Billy Bragg, Liz Stringer, Judy Collins and Tim Easton announced in the first two rounds. Located a three and a half hour drive from Melbourne, the laid-back summer event brings folk fans from far and wide to celebrate the spirit of the Port Fairy community.

The festival’s program director, Justin Rudge, says he’s excited about what the upcoming event will bring.

The Folkie is getting bigger and more exciting with every artist announcement,” he says. “This third round of artists is incredibly diverse and represents so much of what the festival is about.”
