Four-piece garage rock group Unscored will take the stage at Whole Lotta love to celebrate the release of their third single.

The Naarm-based garage rock group Unscored is gearing up for a show at Melbourne’s Whole Lotta Love to celebrate the release of their latest single. On December 3, they will take to the stage with the support of the fast-and-furious Coco Jumbo and newcomers Texkarna Kills.

Unscored’s third single, Big Fkn Aorta, is sure to get listeners’ blood pumping. Weighted and ominous, it centres around an unassuming character with something to hide.

Post-punk riffs and squealing guitar meet haunting, dry vocals, leaving the listener with an unsettled feeling. Undeniably heavy, tinny headphones don’t do it justice – the track is made for the stage.

Drawing inspiration from a wide range of influences – pop punk, Motown, and musical theatre – their previous releases have a similar dark edge. Crunchy guitars and melodic bass lines are battered with punchy drums. Their video for the song Cowboy is a creep-tastic affair, featuring blood, guts, and clowns galore.

The latest, heart-centric track fits the theme of the band’s anticipated full-length release, with a focus on the human body.

In a conversation with Beat earlier this year, the band said fans should expect a varied, surprising, and engaging live set. With pre-sale tickets up for just $10, it’s an easy choice for local rockers looking for a good time.
