Kiwi indie-rockers The Naked and Famous are to play new shows in Melbourne and Sydney, alongside performances at Big Day Out in Australia and New Zealand.
New Zealand band The Naked and Famous have just announced two headline shows in Melbourne and Sydney, to be played alongside the Big Day Out tour of Australia at the start of next year.
They return after recent sell-out shows in both cities to play The Corner in Melbourne on Friday January 28, and Sydney’s Oxford Arts Club on Wednesday February 2.
The Naked and Famous have just completed their first international tour, and have recently signed with UK label Fiction, which is also the home of Snow Patrol, White Lies and Crystal Castles. This record deal will see their latest album Passive Me Aggressive You released around the world in the new year.
The album has already been critically acclaimed in Australia and debuted at number one in their homeland of New Zealand, where it stayed for two weeks and is certified gold.
The group’s November shows in Australia, the UK and USA in support of the current single Punching In A Dream have also received an ecstatic response.
"Fervent, infectious and highly hummable, this is a band armed with songs to fall in love with"
The Fly (UK)
"Enraptured velveteen synth-pop wonderment"
NME (UK)
"The Naked and Famous impressively succeeds using hypnotic vocals, dreamy synths, heavy percussion and catchy riffs to create a more than must-see performance… expect great things to come from this band"
Filter (USA)
"You will be hearing their insistent beats and hooky choruses soon enough"
LA Weekly (USA)
