Paying homage to Banjo Paterson’s evocative poem The Daylight is Dying, Moama Lights has engaged world-class studio MandyLights to curate, design, and produce a dazzling display. As the sun sets, visitors are transported into the magical, illuminated ecosystem of Moama Horseshoe Lagoon.

This year’s event features the mysteries of the bushland with illuminated ripples dancing on the water’s surface and projections of children’s artworks across the lagoon. Spectacular Indigenous artworks by First Nations artist Warrick Keen and contemporary Yorta Yorta artist Alkina Edwards also light up the region.

Mayor Frank Crawley emphasised that this year’s event is not to be missed, stating, “The 2024 event celebrates the wonders of nature through an ever-changing display of captivating colours, spectacular sounds, and amazing local art. We are delighted to welcome both locals and visitors to the region once again.”

In addition to the Moama Lights display, the town is hosting various other activities for visitors, including an outdoor ice-skating rink at Kerrabee Soundshell, the American Hotel beer garden, and various food trucks.

Presented by Murray River Council and Mandylights and supported by Moama Bowling Club, Destination NSW, Rich River Golf Club, Campaspe Shire Council, Campaspe Port Enterprise, Essential Energy, Echuca Moama Accommodation Association, Border Inn Hotel, Moama Bakery, Decentralised Demountables, Riverine Herald, Edge FM, and Northern Hire, Moama Lights is a community event that showcases the stunning sites of Moama.
