The Melbourne play capturing the fury of womanhood in the 21st Century

revoltme.jpg

The genesis of UK playwright Alice Birch sees an unfortunate array of equally funny and disturbing events occur in quick succession. Dirty talk is stripped naked, a marriage proposal is interrogated, and nudity is embraced in the dairy aisle as Birch rallies language to revolt upon itself, calling it to take arms against the conventions of work, sex, motherhood, aging and love.

An outstanding portrait of writing wizardry, the piece is a welcome lesson n disobedience, twisiting words into action in an effort to make change happen.
