The magical Tasmanian jazz singer making big strides in Melbourne

Tasmanian mum of two and inspiring jazz singer, Janelle Stowe, draws much of her songwriting inspiration from the beauties around her.

With a sound that Stowe describes as from the heart, the classically trained pianist, trumpeter and jass vocalist teams up with the dynamic duo of Brendon Siemsen (Guitar) and Evan Carydakis (Saxophone) to form a talented three-piece.

Performing in Melbourne has somewhat been a pipedream for Stowe, but now it’s going to happen.

“Singing in Melbourne has been a dream of mine,” Stowe says.

“As a new mother and a regional female artist living in Tasmania, I feel blessed to have the support of my husband Nick, and my long time cohort Brendon Siemsen. They have encouraged me to pursue my performing career and to seek a national and international platform alongside my more established contemporaries.”

When The Janelle Stowe trio commence their Melbourne shows, they be bringing a specially curated performance entitled Come Away with Me, which honours the contribution of women to jazz.
