It's hard to believe The Hard-Ons have been rocking for 40 years and still have as much brutality on and off stage as ever.
It’s time to celebrate that 40 years as The Hard-Ons head on a mammoth anniversary tour of Australia this October/November. Starting up in Brisbane on Friday 18 October, the band will work their way through Sussex Inlet, Wollongong, Sydney, Newcastle, Hobart, Melbourne, Frankston, Castlemaine, Geelong, Perth, Scarborough and Adelaide.
The announcement today also comes with a Hard-Ons new music offering of single Buzz Buzz Buzz, out via Cheersquad Records & Tapes as the first taste of the current Hard-Ons line-up’s yet-to-be-announced third album.

A Peter (Blackie) Black/Tim Rogers cowrite, Buzz Buzz Buzz sees The Hard-On’s slam down as razor-sharp pop song, driven by intense energy and power – the only way The Hard-On’s know how to be! Blackie, Ray, Murray and perpetual newbie Tim have covered a lot of bases on their two albums to date (2021’s ARIA top 5 debuting I’m Sorry Sir, That Riff’s Been Taken and last year’s the Top 30 debuting Ripper ’23), but the suggestion this time is the album is heavy on the pop. The sort of pop that can cause hearing problems that is – The Hard-Ons wouldn’t have it any other way.
“Our best collaboration so far. When Tim said ‘I wanna get a little left of centre with the melody on this,’ I was blown away,” says Blackie.
The new single and shows also come before the premiere new feature length documentary film, The Most Australian Band Ever, which sees The Hard-Ons as the feature subject. Set to premiere October 16 at Sydney’s SXSW festival, the documentary directed by Jonathan J. Sequeira for production companies Living Eyes and Play Vintage, offers insight into the bands existence and reincarnation with Tim Rogers.
