Questions for the Nation focuses directly on Australia asking whether there should be a citizenship test to buy property in Australia and discussing topics including marriage equality and democracy. This session is followed by What is right? What is left? where both national and international political issues will be addressed in the context of 2017’s evolving political landscape.
The Philosophical Fight Club, hosted by Geoffrey Robertson, will see intellectual heavyweights face tough questions as they search for answers to difficult moral dilemmas, while a debate centred on the feminist dystopia of The Handmaid’s Tale will act as the final session of the series.
Featuring speakers including Deborah Frances-White, Lauren Duca, Gareth Evans, Damon Young, and Anna Krien, The Festival of Questions enlists a diverse range of guests to combine storytelling, comedy, and discussion in an effort to answer some of the most contentious questions of today.
All four sessions will be Auslan interpreted.
