The Eynesbury Winter Festival kicks off this weekend

Words by Staff Writer

Take in the natural surrounds at the Eynesbury Winter Festival.

The festival offers an action-packed program that includes an outdoor covered ice-skating rink – in case RISING’s didn’t float your boat – winter solstice bonfire, street performers, food trucks, children’s entertainment, a night market, fireworks and more.

Situated in Melbourne’s booming west, and just 40 minutes from the CBD, Eynesbury lies between two fast-growing ‘cities’ – Melton in the north and Wyndham to the south. And they lie within two of the fastest growing local government areas.

A more family-oriented winter festival option for residents in Melbourne’s west – with no shortage of other competitors occurring elsewhere – the Eynesbury Winter Festival offers daily events from masterclasses to reptile exhibits, to the standard winter fare of magic, fire and food.

The festivals’ winter solstice celebration is happening on Saturday 1 July, starting at 5pm, with fireworks from 7:45pm.

That will include a bonfire, African drumming and an interactive drum shop, fire performers, food trucks, fireworks, glow performers and glow walkers among more. What’s more, entry to the Eynesbury Winter Festival won’t cost you an icicle, but they do recommend that you book tickets in advance for the ice rink.
