Batman: The Killing Joke has been animated for the screen in an adaption of the classic 1988 graphic novel of the same name. The story follows the Joker as he attempts to drive commissioner Jim Gordon insane, with Batman undertaking a desperate attempt to stop him.
The story has since became famous for its brooding, dark undertones and insight into the Joker’s origin – a failed comedian who fell victim to his own mental state.
