But for politically charged anthems, we could do a lot better than a soggy brand of sardonic reappropriation of xenophobic rhetoric and artless signifiers. Redgum’s 1984 track A.S.I.O. is a more potent take on 2014 Australia, or have a listen to Augie March’s recent Definitive History.
