B-Balls know how to kick it old school with poppy delights

Ever wondered what a Katy Perry song would sound like in 1950s ‘doo-wop’ interpretation?

Berlin bases rock ‘n roll bandThe Baseballs’ album Strike relishes in covering current pop-tastic hits in the style of good old fashioned rockabilly swing.

The slick haired trio look as if they’ve stepped out of the movie Pleasantville.

They take today’s sexually charged music back to a time where ‘sex’ was strictly used for describing your gender.

The Baseballs’ performances on Hey Hey It’s Saturday and Sunrise have already dazzled and charmed Aussie audiences.

In case you were worried that pop stars were worried about The Baseballs pinching their best songs and turning them into toe tapping bop, the boys swear that Usher just loves their rendition of In This Club.

“Usher listened to our versions. He heard our version of Love and he

said, ‘Wow, it sounds great. Like Elvis remakes Love In This Club. My Grandmother

will love this’,” said vocalist Sam.

Other covers include Beyonce’s skiffle version of Crazy In Love, along with chart crawling hits from Lady Gaga, Rhianna’s Umbrella and Snow Patrol’s Chasing Cars.

After a smashing performance in Sydney earlier this year, The Baseballs are planning on bouncing back to Oz on a national tour sometime next year.
