The Bamboos Tenth Anniversary Celebration

It’s been a decade since The Bamboos emerged from the depths of Australia’s Funk and Soul scene and embarked on a sucessful international career.  It’s time to celebrate with a gig to end all gigs.

Widely renowned as one of Australia’s greatest Funk and Soul bands, The Bamboos is celebrating their tenth anniversary by performing a very special live show at The Prince of Wales Bandroom. The Bamboos first emerged from the depths of funk, hip hop, psychedelic and soul in the early 2000s and have since then enjoyed a long and lustrous career involving one live album, four studio albums and 14 singles released world wide.

With sold out tours circulating Europe, The Bamboos were listed in The Age’s Top 100 Most Influential People in Melbourne in 2008. They followed this acclaim with musical appearances on Grey’s Anatomy, Ugly Betty, Bondi Rescue, Underbelly and Packed to the Rafters. In addition to this, they were voted in at number four in The Age’s poll for best Australian Bands, just behind AC/DC, but impressively ahead of modern rockers, Jet. Their latest album, 4, debuted at Number One in the Australian iTunes R&B/Soul charts.

To celebrate a decade of these achievements, The Bamboos will be sharing their rich, eight piece melodies with you on Friday 14 January at The Prince Bandroom with special guests, Electric Empire and DJs Pierre Baroni, Kano, Ennio Styles and Chris Gil. Tickets go on sale this Friday 12 November and can be purchased at princebandroom.com.au.
