Built in 1936, The Astor is Melbourne’s last single-screen cinema of its kind, famous for its delivery of classics, cult favourites, select new releases and double features. The final season will kick off on Sunday December 21 with Labyrinth and Boyhood, with other highlights including Gone Girl, Blade Runner, Ghostbusters, Grease Sing-a-long, Nightcrawler, Hamlet, Apocalypse Now and Scarface. The final screening will be Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey.
