Tessa and the Typecast prepare for NYC.

An approaching release date looms for Tessa, and the once small time Ballarat locals prepare to take on the big city.

With teaser single Painter selling out already, Tessa and the Typecasts have created a murmur that runs through Melbourne and out to Ballarat.

As they promote their upcoming EP, the five piece Ballaratian band is squeezing in one last Australian performance at The Grace Darling Hotel on November 11 before dashing off to New York City.

Tessa and the Typecasts have a very contemporary sound. Their work is heavily influenced by jazz and classical, but also weaves in and out of blues, acoustic and rock. Perhaps it is this unique blend that makes them so satisfying to the general public, with Tessa able to boast a recent feature on Hot Australian Artists with John Kennedy on Xfm London.

The EP is not due for release until early 2011, but fans can see Tessa at The Grace Darling Hotel for their last show of the year with fellow music chums, Red Berry Plum and Kristina Miltiadau. Specially designed hand made CD versions will be available on the night. For more details visit tessaandthetypecast.com.
