Every Friday night, Brown Alley turns into Melbourne’s home for hard techno and hard bounce, and the 28 August edition comes stacked.
Nerve runs at Brown Alley every Friday, and this week’s lineup is headlined by Staffy and Bambii. Sydney’s Staffy heads the bill off the back of a huge run, with multiple Teletech appearances, a Digi Culture Music & Arts slot and an A3 Festival booking all landing within months of each other. His sets sit at the pointy end of the BPM scale, pulling from techno, trance and psy and built around sharp, driving percussion.

Joining him is Melbourne’s own Bambii, fresh off a run through Europe that took in Toklab in Portugal and three shows across Greece, alongside a Revolver set and a PICA appearance back home.
Rounding out the lineup is support from Rudeboy, who’ll help keep the room moving from the opening hour. With tickets already shifting fast, this isn’t one to leave to the last minute.
Brown Alley’s setup makes it a natural fit for a weekly night like this, with the room spread across two spaces plus an outdoor rooftop area for anyone needing air between sets. T
he sound system’s been built for exactly this kind of high-BPM programming, and with the night running all night long, there’s plenty of time to move between rooms and catch both headliners in full flight.
Drink specials are locked in too, keeping the night affordable from door to close. Carlton pots are $6, Alizé and Agwa are $10, vodkas and basics are $11, and South Ave’s are $12 – solid pricing for a night that’s set to run late.
Between Staffy’s cross-genre selection and Bambii’s European mileage, this week’s edition of Nerve is shaping up as one of the stronger lineups the residency has pulled together this year.
