Supporting acts include the formidable Cookin’ On 3 Burners, who will be joined by vocalist Stella Angelico. Since their 2002 debut with Gravel Rash / Pie Warmer, the trio has carved out a distinctive niche blending deep funk, raw soul and organ jazz.

Kylie Auldist, known as Melbourne’s “high priestess of soul” and lead vocalist of The Bamboos, will bring her signature blend of soaring vocals and tender moments to the stage. PBS DJ Lyndelle Wilkinson rounds out the bill, promising to keep the crowd moving with a mix of disco, soul and funk.

This year’s event places a strong emphasis on sustainability, partnering with Lime Bikes for a Keep Cup giveaway and Green My Plate for eco-friendly food service solutions. Organisers are encouraging attendees to embrace sustainable practices, from carpooling to using the No.6 tram line for transport.

“We’re transforming picnics into dance parties while keeping our environmental impact low,” says a spokesperson for the event. “Our bin fairies will be on hand to help visitors dispose of waste responsibly.”

The festival will feature local food trucks serving up Melbourne’s finest street cuisine, with sustainable crockery provided. Entry is free, and the event runs rain or shine in the historic Malvern Public Gardens.
