The second APRA Top 30 Postcodes Rankings showed nine out of the top 15 suburbs were in Melbourne. Coburg moved up to #4 from #6, but Preston AKA Depreston and Fitzroy North/Clifton Hill have moved down. But within a 4km area, there’s a lot of writing talent.

Brunswick also rated #1 for alt-rock, pop/rock, metal, folk and blues and roots writers. It was #3 for electronica and country.
Northcote was #1 for jazz and country, and #2 for alt-rock and pop/rock, and #3 for screen composers.
For electronica and dance/techno, the first two suburbs were Surry Hills/Darlinghurst and Bondi in Sydney. Bondi also topped the postcode for urban.
