It comes after the beloved festival was forced to cancel its 2020 event.

Strawberry Fields is back! After forgoing their 2020 event due to disruptions caused by COVID-19, the festival has revealed it will be returning in 2021.

Going down a week earlier than usual – from October 29 to 31 – Strawberry Fields will stand as a crucial restorator for the region with which it lives. The festival has always been tightly bound to its surroundings, and in 2021, it’s main objective is to reunite music lovers and restart the festival’s contributions to regional economies.

There’s been no word of the 2021 lineup just yet but if the 2019 bill is anything to go by, expect a wonderfully-diverse collection of artists. The most recent running of Strawberry Fields welcomed performances from Derrick May, Session Victim, Alfa Mist from overseas, with CC:DISCO!, Mildlife, Gordon Koang, Wax’o Paradiso, and many more, filling out the local bill.

Early-bird and first round tickets will be available via ballot only, with registrations open until Tuesday January 19. General sales will commence from Tuesday February 9.

The festival’s Low Income Ticket Program will return once again, providing patrons who are socially or economically disadvantaged with the opportunity to apply for a half-price ticket. Applications for this will open on April 1.

What’s more, in 2021, Strawberry Fields will team up with social enterprise Humantix – a ticketing platform which donates all booking fees towards programs designed to close the global education gap.

“We are thrilled to partner with Humanitix who will donate 100% of booking fee profits to fund scholarships for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. Humanitix believes that everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive no matter their background, and so do we!” Festival Director Tara Benney said in a statement.

Benney also affirmed Strawberry Fields’ commitment to delivering a festival that’s true to the Strawberry Fields brand – part of the reason the festival was put to rest in 2020.

“We want to bring back the Strawberry you remember,” Benney continued. “Diverse live music, dancing, the bush spa, swimming, art, workshops and boundary-pushing sustainability initiatives.

“But let’s not ignore the elephant in the room; the world has changed a little since our last dance. We will be doing everything within our power to plan our most fantastic festival to date and will stay in close contact with planning authorities on how to do that. We will keep you informed as much as possible and will not go forward with an event which doesn’t stay true to our roots.”

Strawberry Fields 2021 goes down from Friday October 29 to Sunday October 31. Ticket registrations are now open via the festival website.
