What makes jazz so different to other genres? Jazz has influenced so many music forms, from electronic to hip hop and beyond, as well as being a genre in its own right. Jazz is the foundation of free thought in music and has always offered hope for outsider artists.
What do you love the most about playing live? As a DJ, I love reading the dancefloor – what works, what doesn’t. What people respond to, what they’re diggin’. You can plan all you like, but they’ll surprise you every time
What are you most exciting for about Stonnington Jazz Festival? I’m playing with Black Jesus Experience and Papa Chango on Friday May 12. Two of Melbourne’s most exciting bands. It’s going to be a blast.
